The role has significant executive and cross-functional exposure and is an opportunity to learn from the top leaders at NetApp. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has strong product strategy and business operations experiences in a product organization, someone who excels at anticipating requirements rather than waiting for direction and who can juggle parallel workstreams. As the Chief of Staff and Sr. Director of Business Operations, you are often representing the SVP/GM and will act as a strategic advisor, ensuring that discussions and topics are vetted and thoroughly prepared.This role will report directly to the SVP/GM and will own orchestrating and drive key initiatives and programs across the Enterprise Storage team. Key Responsibilities Direct Support to the SVP/GM Setting a leader's strategic priorities: Helping a leader identify the areas where they must direct their focus and identifying metrics for success. Revisiting regularly and evaluating progress. Strategic lead on high-profile projects Strategically managing a leader's time: working with executive assistant, looking at long-term travel calendar, evaluating opportunities and determining fit with priorities. Meeting preparation and follow up: reviewing upcoming meetings for the week to ensure the leader has all of the information needed to be as productive as possible and sending out agendas or documents to meeting attendees as necessary. Reviewing Internal and External Communications: drafting business unit newsletters, reports, pitch decks, speeches or presentations for the SVP/GM. Monitoring information flow: Sometimes acting as a gatekeeper, ensuring a GM's involvement in a project or decision-making process at the right moment. Leading hiring processes: drafting & posting job descriptions, outlining an interview process, and screening candidates. Working with the Broader leadership team You will be involved in a broad range of activities, from strategic to tactical, and will be responsible for creating the operating cadence for the staff group and driving the cross-functional collaboration process. Planning, organizing, and prioritizing multiple assignments and projects. Bringing people together to work effectively towards shared goals, monitoring progress and orchestrating actions required to achieve success. Anticipating and preparing for different Rhythms of internal business meetings, strategy reviews, Annual Operating Plan aka AOP [planning], All Hands, etc. Driving alignment on plans and execution with other business units, marketing functions, sales teams. Leading specific projects that require cross-functional collaboration, partnering with internal and external stakeholders to proactively develop strategy and execute initiatives. Ensure the Enterprise Storage leadership team is well-prepared prior to leadership meetings and executive reviews. Managing team communications and driving speed and quality of information and communication flows across the organization You will have a key role following up the actions and agreements made on internal and external meetings ensuring they come to the right owners and are closed. Job Requirements Managing confidentiality without exception. Executive presence and the ability to work with people at different levels across the organization. Must have an orientation towards speed and execution, capable of operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Able to pivot between priorities and work autonomously. Proven track record of developing effective partnerships, ability to influence across various teams at different levels while modeling NetApp values. Understanding of how to operate between BUs, GTM, Finance, HR, and Legal. Proven experience in managing and building high performing teams. Experience in strategic planning and execution; orchestrating complex business activity with strong business acumen and attention to detail. Meeting preparation and follow up: reviewing upcoming meetings for the week to ensure the leader has all information needed to be as productive as possible; building and distributing agendas or documents to meeting attendees as necessary. A level of technical knowledge of NetApp's Enterprise Storage product portfolio. Partners with Communications team to drive impactful internal and external comms, messaging, content for team meetings and events, and social mediaincluding reviewing the strategy, coordination and content for conferences, analyst and press events, customer interactions, employee all hands, ensuring that all messages are clear/aligned. Partners with key NetApp organizations, including GTM/Sales Enablement/Sales functions, to drive cross-functional actions necessary for meeting annual plan. Oversee budget execution and product lifecycle and ensure we are optimizing for delivery of strategic priorities. Work closely with extended leadership team to identify, analyze, and develop strategies to improve organizational health as indicated by Thrive Pulse results and other key organizational health metrics. Attend and/or facilitate meetings on behalf of the SVP/GM where needed and drive follow on actions. Minimum Qualifications & Education A minimum of 12-15 years of related experience working with an Engineering or Product Management organization OR 2-3 years of Chief of Staff experience for SVP/GM business leaders. Bachelor's degree required. USA and Canada Residents Only: The base salary hiring wage range for this position which the Company reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position in the specified geographic areas or locations, is [$231,210] - [$279,400].Final compensation will be dependent on various factors relevant to the position and candidate such as geographical location, candidate qualifications, certifications, relevant job-related work experience, education, skillset and other relevant business and organizational factors, consistent with applicable law.
