Gansett (aka Dawson) Labrador Retriever Adult Male

Gansett is a five-year-old, 75-pound lab / Aussie mix (according to a DNA test) that is getting returned after three years because the owner has some health issues and can no longer care for him. They said that his favorite thing is hanging with his people, but he also loves playing fetch, squeaky toys, and being outside for “squirrel patrol.” He enjoys running and walking, helps set a brisk pace, and motivates you up the hills. In the home, he naps and wants to be loved. Gansett has had training with Ken at Ranger Dog Training, so he knows basic commands and is pretty good with his “place command.” He was crated when they first got him but stopped after about eight months because he doesn’t disturb anything. He loves going for runs and walks and pulls a little on the leash, which could easily be trained out of him, but they liked that he made them run faster. We are sad that Gansett has lost his family, but we’re hoping he’ll find a new owner soon.
