Letter from FDR dated August 17, 1944 on White House letter head. This letter refers to the drive against the Japanese. The letter also refers to Admiral Chester Nimitz, General Douglas MacArthur. The signature has not been authenticated, but has been viewed by several appraisers to determine its value. At present, the value they gave (verbal) is anywhere between $500 to maybe $700. Because there are several fakes out there, we would be happy to send a copy of the letter to prospective buyers to view before purchase. Of course, you can use the one posted here as well. We don't expect for anyone to hand over $400 for a letter you don't know if its a copy of a fake. We will be happy to work with you regarding the authenticity of the letter.
