Practice Area: Data Privacy - Litigation, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 7 Years, A law firm in Chicago is seeking a Senior Cyber/Data/Privacy Associate Attorney or Special Counsel with a focus on regulatory investigations, litigation involving consumer protection issues, and defense of data privacy and security class actions. The ideal candidate will have a high level of academic achievement, the ability to engage directly with clients, lead significant projects, possess general tech fluency, and impeccable analytical and writing skills. Duties:Engage directly with clients and lead significant projects in the areas of regulatory investigations, consumer protection litigation, and data privacy and security class actions.Conduct legal research and analysis on complex cyber, data, and privacy issues.Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.Provide strategic legal advice to clients on compliance with data privacy laws and regulations.Represent clients in regulatory proceedings and court hearings. Requirements:7+ years of experience focusing on regulatory investigations or litigation involving consumer protection issues (State AG, FTC, and other regulatory agencies).Well-versed in defending data privacy and security class actions, including claims under the Stored Communications Act, wiretapping claims, unfair and deceptive trade practices claims, and data breach class actions.High level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school.General tech fluency.Impeccable analytical and writing skills. Education:Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a nationally recognized law school. Certifications:Admitted to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction. Skills:Ability to lead and manage significant legal projects.Strong client engagement and communication skills.Thorough understanding of cyber, data, and privacy laws and regulations.Legal research and analysis proficiency.Tech fluency.Excellent analytical and writing skills.
