WillowWillow is a lovely young Border Collie. After roaming loose and lost for weeks I was finally caught in a trap and brought to the shelter. I was wearing a thick heavy collar with a frayed rope dangling from it. I was afraid of everything. Staff found I could walk on a leash, but could not be touched.When I went into foster care my life improved greatly. I had two dog friends to play with and learn from. My foster mom walks me upstairs to her deck and sometimes has let me into the house!When I’m on the leash, I’m very quiet and wait for my Foster mom to walk, without pulling her.I still do not let people touch me – I will quickly retreat.My foster has touched and stroked me with a fluffy ‘dust mop’. By the look on my face, I am receiving the feeling with awe. At home, I’ll alert of arriving visitors by barking and jumping against the fence. I am attentive, and energetic. I like to be busy and can make up my own active games. Don’t be surprised to find I have rearranged all the toys and blankets in my yard. My perfect forever home would have space where I can run with a dog friend have a nice safe place to sleep and other dogs and humans as friends. I need a patient loving person to find me and continue working with me on my journey to becoming the best pet ever!
