Part-time Learning Tree Tutors is seeking a qualified teacher for children from JK to Gr. 8. This is for HOME or In-Person 1-on-1 customized tutoring after school. Teachers should be OCT-certified teachers or have an equivalent teaching qualification. or be enrolled in Master of Teaching degree program. The schedule is flexible and customized. However, you must be available at least two evenings a week/or a minimum of 4 hours weekly for after-school tutoring. A typical lesson will be 1 or 1.5 hours. Applicants should be located reasonably close to Yonge/Bloor and mid-town and downtown Toronto. Key Responsibilities: Teach one-on-one tutorials and create customized lessons. Provide remedial teaching, homework help, enrichment. Ensure student success and provide feedback on progress Qualifications: Certified OCT Ontario teacher or equivalent. Students enrolled in education degree programs also considered. University degree. Excellent English with clear speech. Able to teach Reading and English and junior math. Experience and knowledge of Ontario curriculum. Experience in teaching/tutoring children in school. Residing in midtown or central Toronto Permanent resident or citizen of Canada A vulnerable sector police check may be required. Rate is $45/hr for Home tutoring.
