Meet Miah! Hi! I was picked up as a stray and brought to a shelter. I was previously microchipped so I am about 3.5 years old and a Great Dane/Cane Corso mix. They took good care of me there. I spent just over 1 month there before Giant Heart picked me up. I have been with my foster family for about 1 month. It took me about 2 weeks to really become comfortable. Now I feel like I’m a part of this family. I get lots of exposure with kids and dogs. There are a lot of dogs and I do get along with all of them. I’ve been around big dogs and small dogs. I’m a good eater as well. I do eat from an elevated feeder because my legs are so long. I do not live with cats currently so I don’t know what I would think of them. I absolutely love my humans. I greet my foster mom every morning before she gets out of bed. I will try to steel all the love as well. I like to be pet and loved on. I am fully potty trained and if I need anything I will bark at you and let you know. I can be crated. I do best in a wire crate but my foster family leaves me out a lot. I am not destructive and do not get into things. Here is my story. I will need a home with minimal exercise. I might need to have brothers or sisters that are slower and more lazy because I do love to play but should take it easy. The reason is I have a torn CCL (back leg ligament). Many dogs live with this without repairing it, some do better with repair. I do really well. I do limp sometimes with over use. I also sit funny a lot. At this time we don’t plan on sending me through surgery and rehab. We feel I will do just fine without and do better not trying to rehab and heal. Having me on joint supplements, good dog food and minimal to moderate exercise as well as keeping me lighter will help significantly. I’m on pain medication as well but hoping to come off of it at some point. Overall I’m a gem with a bum knee. I am a special girl who really wants to please. If you have it in your heart and feel I would be a good match for you let the rescue know. I can’t wait to find a furever home to lay my head at every night.
