Bear is a six-year-old, 65-pound furry lab mix (the picture was taken before he was groomed) that was surrendered to the shelter by his owner, who could no longer care for him. He was originally with another rescue and was in boarding most of the summer. While there, he got great reviews and seemed to be the most popular fellow there with ALL of the dogs. We were able to find a foster for him and she confirmed that he is an amazing dog and perfect in every way. She fosters frequently, and we have never gotten such a ringing endorsement. She would adopt him herself if not for his size, but you could be the lucky one to make him your own go to www.atlantalabrescue.com and apply. FROM THE FOSTER: Bear is an exceptional dog. He's super sweet, calm, and chilled out. He reminds me of a small Newfoundland. He seems to be house and crate-trained. He goes independently into his crate and sleeps there with no issues. During the day, he snoozes at my feet while I work. He seems to know basic commands and will run through his entire repertoire for a treat. He's especially fond of shaking paws and high-fives.
