Scuttle is is a young Heeler mix recently pulled by our rescue from Pasco County Animal Services. He is currently being fostered in Bradenton, FL (Manatee County). He is approximately 2 years old and about 35 lbs. He' s one of a pair and they are bonded. While we all like to keep dogs together, we are thinking unless they are going to be adopted together they need to be separated. Alone, he is submissive to people and to other dogs. He needs a home where someone can be firm, consistent and patient. He has not seen a lot of the world and is easily startled by noises or sudden movements. He has a tendency to be a velcro dog and can be clingy . Scuttleshould be fine with focus and redirection and shows a great liking for toys and balls. Because the pair waspulled together and currently in the same home, assessment is a bit challenging as both are anxious when away from each other. He will be a lovely active boy once away from his mate and should open up in no time. Scuttle is house trained, leash trained,crate trained and is seeking a knowledgeable foster or adopter to help him on his way. We are a foster-based rescue organization with foster homes throughout the state of Florida. We predominantly save dogs from municipal shelters throughout the Southeastern U.S. Our rescue dogs live in foster homes - there is no central facility.
