Grace is a bichon frise and approx. 7 yrs old. She was a former breeding mama who never knew what a trusting human was, but has made progress in foster. She has been with her foster for 3.5 months. She has made a lot of progress in this time but she still has a long way to go. She needs to learn love and affection so Grace can develop into a happy dog deserving of a loving family. Grace will need a quiet home without young children and with another small dog. Grace requires a patient adopter who will help her overcome her fears including being picked up. She will whimper when you approach her but with a reassuring voice and gentle petting you can pick her up from her playpen. When not in her playpen she tends to run when approached. Grace walks fairly well on a leash as long as she’s not being pulled along or feels restrained. She does not like to be on grass and is fearful of stairs letting you know with her whimper. She startles easily, be it from a quick movement, the wind or a fast moving vehicle. Most of the time Grace is quiet and can be found laying in her favorite bed. She likes the gate open to her playpen so she can come and go at her leisure, but it is her "safe space". Grace is not fully house trained and will have accidents if not taken outdoors regularly or when she is overly stressed. She is spayed and UTD on shots, and recently had a dental.
