1972 Ford Mustang Convertible Bright Lime

Price:
$14,000
Summary:
Used 1972 Ford Mustang 66,022 miles, Green
Location:
East Dubuque, IL
Description:

This car has spent almost its' entire life in sunny dry Arizona, so it has never had any rust or rust repair. It has 66,022 original miles documented by a sack full of receipts and other paperwork. It is a true survivor. All of the glass is original to the car and in excellent shape. All the weatherstrip is new. New door handles and locks. New Mustang script emblems. The bumpers are new and the convertible top boot moldings were re-chromed. All the stainless is in mint condition. It has a new pop open gas cap and a new Mach I honey-comb rear trim panel with new moldings. The convertible top is brand new and has a glass rear window, not the cheap plastic one re-sellers install. It even has a matching white top well liner and new white top boot! The trunk is detailed with the correct splatter paint and a new speckled mat. It also has its' original "born with," never used spare tire along with the correct scissors jack, lug wrench, and mounting hardware. The original interior is in excellent condition. The seats still have their very rare gray and white comfort-weave inserts that are not reproduced. The carpet is new but the underlayment is the factory original set that was laid down 46 years ago and looks brand new. How rare is that! I have many pictures showing the floors, underlayment, and build sheets I found when the carpet was changed. The floors literally look like they were painted yesterday. The seat belts and dash pad are new. The dash bezel trim panels and shifter bezel are new. The factory AM radio was swapped for an AM/FM aftermarket unit with a new stereo dash speaker. The car drives smoothly down the road with no bumps, squeaks, or rattles. The steering alignment is great and the car doesn't pull to either side. I would describe the undercarriage and engine bay as "driver" quality, in keeping with an unrestored survivor car. This car even has its' original "born with" factory exhaust system. WOW! The thing that makes this car so rare is not only the color and its' survivor condition but also the fact that it came from the factory with the decor group option which provided for a Mach I style front grill and black lower body paint. It even has power steering, power disc brakes, and factory air conditioning that blows ICE COLD! The only thing that doesn't work is the heater. The speedo works but over reads after 70 MPH (probably an easy fix). Everything else on this car, including the clock, works. The car starts, runs, drives, and performs perfectly. There are no leaks, engine noises, or other issues. It doesn't look like the motor or transmission have ever been out of the car! The receipts show this car was serviced regularly and driven sparingly. Aside from regular things being changed like brakes, suspension, tune ups, belts, hoses, etc., this car is all original.
