She has a large, deep birdpit keeping the crew safe and dry and also offers plenty of lounging room! With lots of stowage, plenty of seating, and a well-equipped galley, she could see you for weekend coast hopping or much longer cruisers, or that trip of your dreams! Lying Conwy Marina, North Wales Construction Beneteau First 42s7, built by Beneteau (France) in 1995 to a design by Bruce Farr. Interior design by Philip Stark Sky Blue Hull requires polish GRP Hull and superstructure Fin keel with wings Antifouled and anodes replaced in August 2022. Copy of 2022 survey available on request. Construction in a three-step build method that began with the application of gelcoat, over which is sprayed Beneteau Watershield System, a polyester, which bonds to the gelcoat and prevents blisters. The hull is uncored, laidup with chopped glass, woven roving, and mat, with the unidirectional fabric used at the hull-deck joint. Molded, one-piece fiberglass grid of stringers and floors run the length and width of the hull. The grid incorporates the engine mount, supports for fuel and water tanks, and receivers for bulkheads, which are bonded in place with a polyurethane compound. The balsa-cored deck is jointed to the hull and bulkheads. The hull-deck joint is an internal hull flange that is bonded with 3M 5200 and fastened with aircraft rivets through the toe rail, deck, and flange. The 42s7 is a boat that will flee before a storm, claw off a lee shore, and provide crew comfort above and below decks. Farr’s Beneteau designs are well-liked as they present lower profiles and fast hulls.
