1971 MG Excalibur Convertible Kit Car Monaco Clenet This is a handmade 1971 MG Midget Excalibur Convertible Metal Kit Car This vehicle is mechanically sound, and is a great driver with much further potential. The car came from Central Georgia resulting in a solid body with no rust to speak of. The car has a clean Nebraska title and I will try to list what I know of the vehicle as best as possible. VIN # 1Z64K547657 The vehicle is mechanically sound, and a great driver! The car came from Central Georgia, it has a solid body with no rust to speak of, a clean Nebraska title and has always been garaged. My fiance inherited the car from her Father who had many cars, and this car was his favorite to drive. What we know about the car is that it was hand built for my Fiance's Father, modeled after the Monaco/Clenet Excalibur and the fenders and hood are made from metal (not fiberglass). It measures 16' front to rear and is just under 6' wide. The engine is a Ford 352 with an Edelbrock 1497 1175 carburetor, and I believe the engine has a better than stock camshaft. The transmission is a 3-speed automatic, but we do not know the model and haven' t been able to find numbers on it. I am a mechanic by trade and have recently done some work to the vehicle including replacement of the brake master cylinder and booster, tuned the engine, and changed the fuel filters. The chassis frame may be from a Mercury or Lincoln, but am not 100% sure. The differential is from a 1971 Mercury Monterey according to the numbers on it, grill is from a 1979 Mercury Cougar, and the steering column is from a Firebird. I have been told that the front bumper is a Model A bumper and the rear tail-lights are also Ford. The tires are Lee All Weather P235/75R15's M+S mounted on American Racing Atlas Polished Aluminum wheels. Everything on the vehicle works with the exception of the heater, which is not hooked up (we assume because it was not necessary to have a heater in the warm Georgia climate). This is a nice driver vehicle that someone could have a lot of fun touring in, going to local car shows and it always gets tons of looks whenever we've driven it, not to mention people stopping us wanting to know more about the car.
