1956 Mercury Monterey, deriving its name from Monterey Bay, the Mercury Monterey was a upscale version of the Mercury Custom which replaced the Mercury Eight, manufactured and marketed by the Mercury division of Ford from 1952 to 1974. Over its 22 years of production, the Monterey served as the flagship, mid-range, and entry-level offering of the full-size vehicle. Pristine 2 tone Lauderdale Blue 04 & Classic White 23 paint. Laser straight lines. Perfect body fit and gaps. All exterior chrome & trim in like new condition. Front and rear bumpers appear installed yesterday. 1956 ushered in a new engine, the 235 hp (175 kW) 312 cu. in. All Mercury sedans underwent an exterior revision, the Big M emblem replaced the previous emblem. Full-length multi-tier chrome spear trim graced the sides, with two types of two-tone paint designs, the traditional approach of a roof color over a different body color, and Flo-tone where the roof and lower body were painted in one color and the upper body painted in another color. They are being sold as museum quality cars which means they may not run or drive and may not have run or driven in numerous years. The vehicles are of a condition where they would be on display in a museum. As museum pieces we were required to disconnect or remove batteries and drain fuel tanks. Once again, these vehicles have not been driven, or even started in quite some time.
