Big chrome bumpers, polished wheels, and integrated sidesteps add to the premium look of this modern classic. But when youhave a full-sized, short-wheelbase SUV like this, theres alwaysgoing to be an understanding that this has a ton more go-anywhereability than those soft-roader crossovers that would cost youmore.The interior continues the look of a highly original andwell-respected machine. You get more of the premium look in thenatural earth-tones, and it starts with nice tan leather seats. Thefront buckets have perforated inserts and the Eddie Bauer logo isstitched in the headrests for a premium and comfy feel. There areeven fold-down armrests and a cup holder center console in-betweenfor long-haul comfort. In fact, the whole setup is made to be quiteluxurious with power windows, power locks, a tilt steering column,cruise control, and cold-blowing R134a air conditioning. The radiois now an AM/FM/CD stereo with USB and Bluetooth for upgradeddriving music.The 5.0-liter V8 is a terrific all-around powerhouse from Ford. Sonot only does this have factory fuel injection but it also has niceupgrades like a K&N air intake, MSD coil, and a Bassaniexhaust. It makes for a stout-running V8 that keeps this Broncoquite versatile. In fact, the full package is quite useful withpower steering, power brakes, front discs, and a four-speedautomatic transmission with highway-friendly overdrive. And whenthe pavement ends, the push-button two-speed 4x4 transfer case andwarn locking hubs are quite handy, too.
