1979 Triumph Dolomite 1850HL Pageant Blue Dolomite 1850HL, registered in 1979. I’ve owned the car since 2015 and, for the first years of my ownership, used the car daily for everything from my morning commute to holidays. The engine has been phenomenally reliable, with only routine maintenance needed to keep it in excellent condition. Even the original coil lasted until 2016, at which point I fitted a new rotor arm, distributor cap and HT leads. The car is on Dolomite Sprint alloys which I believe come from a 1976 Sprint. Underneath there’s a stainless steel Sprint sports exhaust which sounds and looks wonderful. The front brakes have been replaced, including professionally reconditioned callipers. Inside the car, the original interior is in fantastic condition, without the usual tears on the back seat. The driver’s seat has one or two marks on it and a cigarette burn from one of its previous owners. Luckily, there’s no other way of telling that an owner was a smoker; no smells of any kind. I don’t smoke and have never noticed anything. There’s 69,701 miles on the clock that I have no doubt are genuine as it tallies up nicely with the MOT certificates with the car. There’s a nice sizeable file of paperwork detailing the history back to the 80s, too. I’ve decided to sell my beloved Dolomite after long and careful consideration as, in the last few years, the furthest the car has been is to and from my father in law’s house. I believe it’s time for someone else to enjoy it as much as I did when I first bought it. It does need some work, particularly welding around the rear arches: see pictures. I have a couple of panels that will come with the car to hopefully address some of the problem areas. But all in all, it’s in surprisingly good condition for a 70s BL car! MOT and Tax exempt.
