Features & Description
Do you want to design and build quick, efficient, and state-of-the-art interactive Web applications? Do you need a wide area of ownership with many applications to design? Do you want to work with a team of experienced and talented developers in a flexible environment devoid of the usual politics? If so, Datasphere is interested in you. We are looking for a passionate, talented and creative Web UX Designer/Developer to join the DataSphere platform development team. You will use your solid background and experience with the latest web technologies (AJAX, JavaScript, CSS, and Flash/Silverlight) to build features and entire applications on our highly efficient platform. You talk with Product/Program Managers and customers to create mockups and designs that are attractive and functional. From the mockup, you can provide immediate feedback on how to make the pages lighter, easier to maintain, data driven and accessible. Then going from those mockups to a complex html/css layout, semantic, cross-browser with a minimum amount of browser specific css, is a simple exercise for you. You’re comfortable with JavaScript to build your own set of UI enhancements (using a framework or not): tabs, flyouts, expandos, modal windows, and tie in AJAX calls to load data as needed. You have some understanding of client-side performance, page weight, optimizing CSS selectors, perhaps even CSS-sprites. Knowledge of JavaScript performance is a plus. You will analyze requirements, design, develop, troubleshoot, debug, deploy and document software components. What we need:
•Direct experience building highly efficient Web User experiences for high-volume, large catalog systems.
•Strong experience in presentation layer technologies including cross-browser HTML, CSS, JavaScript and AJAX
What we’d like (but not required):
•Experience with JQuery, Ext and/or other JavaScript frameworks would be beneficial.
•Hands-on programming experience in C# (or Java) , experience designing Web Services, Flash/Silverlight applications would be added bonus.
•A degree in computer-science, engineering or mathematics would be beneficial but is not required.
•Experience with SQL Server a plus.
•Experience with LAMP stack is a plus.
