Job Description :-

Application Developer for the maintenance and support of a business critical application written in VB6 with a distributed DB2 backend.
Some Cobol or C++ would be a plus.
The role involves the creation of technical specs, enhancements, testing, shared responsibility for UAT testing and deployment/release management, and application documentation. The candidate will be part of a larger team where most of the team’s resources will be located in an offshore facility.

Technology specific skill requirement :-

Strong VB6 (experience with Standalone EXE, ActiveX EXE, ActiveX DLL and OCX – most/part of the system (70 to 80%) is developed using VB6)
Some knowledge on .NET and C++ would be good
Experience using Third party libraries and controls
Crystal Reports 8.5 (other versions also fine)
Database knowledge with heavy SQL experience – preferably DB2 in a distributed environment.

General skill requirement :-

Excellent communication skills - able to communicate with application end users to resolve service tickets.
Experience with Application Maintenance & Support.
