Java Programmer Analyst

Analyze, design, construct, and test J2EE WEB Based Pharmacy and Pharmacy Benefit

Management computer applications. Troubleshoot the J2EE and Application (Sun and Orion)

server problems. Support and maintain application systems. Write detailed program

documentation (software development life cycle) and user and operations procedures. Exercise

technical competency in the use of standard development tools.

Essential Functions:

•Understand J2EE development processes and tools. Including SUN ONE application server

and Orion Application Server.

•Be familiar with MVC Architectures.

•Understand Software Development Lifecycle as it relates to new development and system

maintenance.

•Use the J2EE Java Development Platform, including IDE use and Builds using ANT and

other build utilities.

•Analyze program and application system problems and requirements, and recommend

solutions for correcting identified problems and implementing requirements.

•Design and construct or implement, and test new or existing programs and application

systems, using department standard development technologies and tools.

•Write documentation for both operations and user procedures, and business decisions

regarding the development or enhancement of programs and application systems.

•Participate in code and testing reviews of work products, and those completed by others.

•Effectively communicate with requesters and designated development/project team leader

regarding status and progress of assigned requests and with other team members regarding

needed assistance and systems requirements.

•Participate in training users in the use of modified or new programs and application systems,

and related procedures.

•Maintain proficiency in appropriate information technologies.

Experience:

•Minimum six months of experience in developing and maintaining programs and application

systems using Java.

•Minimum six months of experience in developing and maintaining programs and application

systems using J2EE and Java Application Servers.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

•Demonstrated technical competence in the capabilities of a programming technology and

tools, including Oracle SQL, Java/J2EE, or other 3/4GL programming languages.

•Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Project, Visio, or other like-kind software tools.

•Working knowledge of the use of SQL (Structured Query Language), specifically in an Oracle

database environment.

•Practical experience in performing analysis, design and construction, and implementation

tasks within the structure of the system development life cycle. www.slc-staffing.com
