Now let's talk about the role: The Tax Manager assists in managing the efforts of tax department staff (13)to ensure that all corporations, controlled partnerships and other entities, comply with federal, state and local income tax law. This person oversees the timely and accurate preparation of federal, state and local income and franchise tax returns, and the determination and preparation of estimated tax payments. This person assists in the management and coordination of federal, state and local income tax audits; and is responsible for financial statement reporting of taxes on income, including preparation of financial statement footnote disclosure. This person actively participates in the development and implementation of tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities; and is responsible for the supervision and development of the tax staff. Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of the federal tax return and subsidiaries, consisting of 100 plus companies. Must understand S corporation return rules as well as financial accounting to be able to follow the accounting consolidation and elimination entries. Must coordinate the efforts of tax department staff. Also responsible for the review and managing preparation of non-consolidated federal tax returns
Responsible in assisting with the timely and accurate preparation of the state tax returns consisting of approximately 600 state tax return filings including filings for LLC's and other flow through entities. Must have a strong understanding of the income tax laws in all states and keep abreast of state tax law changes
Actively participates in the development and the implementation of tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities

Requirements: Education and Experience:
CPA RQD, MST preferred or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Individual MUST come from a PUBLIC accounting firm and have Three to five years of experience in a public accounting firm or a combination of public accounting firm and large corporate tax department experience
Skills and Knowledge:
Experience with flow-through entity taxation is preferred
Experience with CorpTax software is preferred-BANKING--experience with all applicable regulatory bodies a must have
Heavy FAS 109 experience
