STEEL SALES REPRESENTATIVE

We are a growing company in need of additional full-time, experienced sales representatives with steel fab knowledge. Successful candidates will have a minimum of 3 years experience selling in steel fabrication and steel service center markets, with a strong commitment to customer service. Must have a good knowledge of different types of steel as well as a good work ethic. Searching for aggressive individuals with the ability to move steel, along with some marketing background and the ability to recognize and acquire new avenues to expand customer satisfaction and company growth. This is a perfect opportunity for an aggressive, self-motivated, no-nonsense individual with a passion for new business development that wants to advance their career. If outside the area, qualified candidate must be willing to relocate to the South Carolina area.

Reports to:

VP of Sales

General Purpose of Job:

To provide sales expertise and to promote a positive, professional image to both our internal and external customers.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Outside sales calls to new and existing accounts.

· Assist with new product development.

· Cycle counts for customers as required.

· Work with customer service to meet the needs of the customer.

· Communicate with VP of sales all necessary information relating to customer needs and inquiries.



Supervision Level Required:

Receive very general guidance with respect to overall objects working independently of others within division or department policy guidelines using independent judgment in achieving the assigned objectives.



Other Duties and Responsibilities:

· Comply with all policies, practices and responsibilities.

· Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

· Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.





Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, and professional journals. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.



Reasoning Ability:

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.



Computer Operations:

Proficient personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.



Planning/Organization:

· Prioritize tasks.

· Handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.

· Prioritize, organize and delegate assignments where applicable.



Work Schedule/Hours:

8:00 am - 5:00 pm Monday through Friday.

Not limited to 40 hours per week. May require working outside this minimum expected schedule.
