Sr. Technical Writer-

Description

The User Education Team is seeking a Senior Technical Writer. This position will work on teams in many departments to create user documentation, help files, and training materials for a diverse group of users. This position reports to the User Education Team Manager. Working closely with the ICS Interaction Designers, this position will provide user assistance that integrates into Web applications, public Web sites, and other IT services. An ideal candidate will be passionate about enhancing great end-user experiences through great user assistance, and doing this to further the work of the Lord.

Qualifications

• Five years of experience in technical writing and user assistance

• B.A./B.S. in English, Technical Communications, or a related discipline

• Strong feelings of advocacy for end users

• Outstanding writing and content design skills

• Excellent technical and communication skills

• Strong planning and coordination skills

• Knowledge of current industry best practices in user education

• Expert-level knowledge of PeopleSoft's UPK

Exceptional candidates will have one or more of the following:

• Experience creating content for a wide variety of software solutions

• Experience creating localizable content used to build products in a large number of languages

• Ability to lead through influence

• Knowledge of Web standard XHTML, CSS, XML and XML-related technologies

• Experience creating content that meets accessibility requirements
