The candidate will be responsible for data analysis and quality assurance activities related to the data, within Enterprise Information Management (EIM) and QA projects. Additionally, the engineer is responsible to report abnormalities within data processes. For example, during an Extract Transform Load process, data may become mismatched or mangled. This includes evaluating and improving the data gathering/acquisition and transformation processes that affect data quality in a proactive way of problem discovery before they surface. The engineer will be responsible to report when these situations happen to the Information Quality Manager and developer/engineers involved in the ETL. Lastly, the engineer will be responsible to aid in the completion, via quality assurance methods, of EIM related quality projects. The Data Quality Analyst will also measure and monitor data quality levels, analyze the source of problems, and recommend corrective actions to the business.

Responsibilities:

* Sample data records to determine whether they meet specifications and quality standards; take corrective action if necessary.

* Collaborate with data quality assurance; profiling the data to discover inconsistencies and other anomalies.

* Understand business and conversion rules.

* Work with the project team to develop test cases and test data conversions.

* Work with the project team to develop and implement data load validation routines to help monitor data quality.

* Liaise with internal business people in all matters of data quality.

* Assess the condition of the source files and databases; estimate the data cleansing effort based on data assessment.

* May perform data cleansing activities to improve the quality of data.

* Identify areas for data quality improvement and help to resolve data quality problems through the appropriate choice of error detection and correction, process control and improvement, or process design strategies.

* Monitor quality of data received from the lines of business and work with business representatives to resolve issues with input data.

* Monitor the transformation of data as it is processed and work with appropriate technology teams to resolve issues with mapping, business rules and data derivations.

* Responsible to aid in the creation of EIM related quality documentation and the completion of EIM annual goals.

* Responsible to report variances found in the quality of data.

* Responsible to aid in the production and support of EIM quality related projects

Qualifications

At least 3 - 5 years relevant experience; 6 or more preferred.

Experience in business intelligence and/or data warehousing.

Experience in logical and physical database design and implementation.

Must have a working knowledge of data QA methodologies.

Must have a working knowledge of data governance and/or data issue tracking management.

Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, organization and attention to detail.

Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Demonstrated skill in documentation and process modeling.

Experience in SQL & PL/SQL.

Demonstrated experience in implementing process improvements is a plus.

Ability to create reports (oral & written) with the capability of presenting them convincingly; is able to facilitate discussion groups.
