Whether you're a YouTube grad or a film school grad the Broadband Network 3 Video Journalism Program is all about creating quality video journalism that matters and gets noticed. The network features stories that are locally focused yet globally entertaining and relevant.

By joining our growing network of Video Journalists (VJs) you have opportunities for credentialed journalist access, paid assignments, guidance, continuing education, and mentorship in order to produce relevant and authentic local video journalism for a large and growing audience.

BBN3 is the production hub for stories about local issues and events, delivered in a style that is provocative and universally appealing, offering urban, edgy stories that get people talking and sharing on line.

After joining the network you can get started right away as a VJ level 1 and work your way up to VJ level 2 where you can apply for and suggest paid assignments. As a VJ2 you'll get to use our media accreditation to get behind the scenes and exclusive access to all kinds of cool people, concerts and events. We recently assigned our VJs to interview Weezer, Lady Gaga, Margaret Cho, Common, The New Pornographers, and Simple Plan, as well as arranged access to politicians and events.

A VJ3 is the top dog of BBN3. To get there you’ll have to prove to the world that you've got the skills and experience to handle the toughest and most high profile assignments. As a VJ3 you have first crack at high profile BBN3 assignments like the Nobel Prize Awards.

As a VJ at any level you can suggest your own assignments and get the green light to start shooting right away and are always encouraged to bring your own ideas to the table.

VJ’s need access to gear, some experience in video production and editing, and a working knowledge of video journalism techniques.
