Essential Responsibilities - Internal
* Develop power electronics circuits, focusing on inverter technologies for appliance applications.
* Implement state of the art inverter technologies focusing on variable speed drives including: conceptual design, hardware prototyping, and algorithm development.
* Perform design tradeoff analysis of circuits with respect to cost, performance, and design flexibility.
* Collaborate with systems engineering to develop creative and innovative solutions resulting in new products and features.
* Collaborate with New Product Introduction design teams to implement advanced controls.
* Translate and document system level requirements into component level specifications.
* Develop design concepts that comply with: UL, CSA, CE, IEC and other industry standards.
* Work closely with global teams to facilitate detailed product design and the development of test plans to ensure that NPI's meet functional and reliability commitments.
Qualifications/Requirements - Internal
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering
* Minimum of 5 years power electronics design experience
* Experience with a electrical, and mechanical system modeling
* Extensive experience with embedded controls, power supply design, digital and analog circuits
* Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with global teams
* Excellent analytical skills and ability to work within a project team environment
* PCB layout experience, including SMT and through-hole components
* Previous experience in embedded software development employing C programming language and structured programming

Qualifications/Requirements - Internal
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering.
* Minimum of 5 years power electronics design experience.
* Experience with electrical and mechanical system modeling.
* Experience with control system modeling and analysis as applicable to power electronic circuits.
* Demonstrated experience implementing and adjusting PI(D) compensators applying Root Locus or Bode plots.
* Extensive experience with embedded controls, power supply design, digital and analog circuits.
* Experience in operation, characterization, and modeling of power electronic switching devices.
* Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with global teams.
* Excellent analytical skills and ability to work within a project team environment.
* PCB layout experience, including SMT and through-hole components.
* Previous experience in embedded software development employing C programming language and structured programming.
Desired Characteristics - Internal
* Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electronic Engineering.
* Minimum of 7 years of power electronics design, motor control experience.
* Previous experience in developing Induction Motor and BLDC motor variable frequency drive systems.
* Previous experience implementing/developing motor control algorithms. ( Scalar, FOC, Slide Mode Control)
* Previous design experience in variable frequency drives, ZVS/ZCS power conversion, switching power converter topologies and technologies.
* Experience resolving EMI issues. * Familiar with agency requirements for motor controls - UL, CSA, CE.
* Competency with Cadence EDA tools
* Design for Six Sigma and Black Belt certified.
