Our Client is currently looking for a Package Assurance Manager

Salary: 100-120K (depends on the experience) plus12 % Bonus
Location: Northern New Jersey

Role synopsis
Lead the activities of the package engineering team for the Company's Supply Chain by providing assurance that all packaging components function in the production environment, are fit-for-purpose and are cost-effective.


Key accountabilities
- Develop a team of packaging engineers.
- Has a vision for package engineering team while providing direction, anticipates resource requirements and assigns package engineers to projects as appropriate.
- Develop package engineering processes that are consistent with ISO 9001 and Global Standards.
- Provides effective project management.
- Assures effective teamwork and connectivity with the business.
- Coordinate and lead the development of Company packaging and shipping requirements.
- Assures primary and secondary packaging component compatibility.
- Assures packaging performance in field applications.
- Provide onsite technical support for trouble shooting packaging lines at Company and third-party packaging locations.
- Support the development, preparation and submission of specifications for packaging components.
- Coordinate the development and evaluate all necessary package testing, protocols and certifications.
- Provide input into packaging RFI’s, RFQ’s and RFP’s.
- Qualify and validate new component suppliers and/or processes.
- Work on cross-functional project teams while providing technical support.
- Interpret package test results and provide recommendations.

Essential criteria & qualifications
- A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Engineering.
- A minimum of 10 years of working experience in the consumer goods packaging industry.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience leading and supervising a package engineering team.
- Experience with qualifying and troubleshooting HDPE rigid bottles and closures.
- Experience in specifying corrugated components, injection and blow molded components and printed labels
- Specific software knowledge such as CAPE.
- Experience with distribution environment issues and solutions.
- Proven ability to partner with internal and external customers.
- Excellent project management and time management skills.
- Experience in maintaining packaging specification databases.
- Project management experience.

Requirements
- MS in Package Engineering.
- MBA Degree.
- Fluent in Portuguese and Spanish.
- Knowledge of MS Office.
- Supply chain management experience.
- Exposure and experience with MRP-MPS systems.
- Experience with third-party manufacturers developing contracts and writing service level agreements.
- Experience with negotiating and project economics.
