A Major Company in Jersey City, NJ has an excellent opportunity for a Linux Systems Administrator.

Responsibilities:

Perform system administration for web and application servers.
Perform in-depth maintenance and tuning.
Perform server optimizations.
Participate dependably in an off-hours on-call rotation.
Take an assigned standard day shift.

Requirements:

Expert level understanding of Linux, Apache, and TCP/IP.
Installation and troubleshooting of software packages and OS.
Development as needed in Perl, Bash/Shell scripting.
Strong experience with Apache and LDAP.
Strong experience with Web applications.
Strong experience in problem troubleshooting and systems monitoring operations dealing with networks and protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP, FTP, SMTP, Vlan and DNS.
Strong experience with Fiber Channel and iSCSI networks.
Strong Experience with VMware ESX.
Experience with storage arrays, 3par arrays preferable.
Strong experience with systems and network monitoring software configurations.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Strong self-starter.
Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university or 4 years of commensurate experience.
