Required Java Developer with Transactions experience in Minneapols,MN

Work Schedule: 5 day week with flexible hours
Reporting: Position will report to FedACH Development Manager over Payments distributed software
Date Needed: ASAP
Length of Assignment: 1 year

Responsibilities:
Will join the FedACH Payments development team, with focus on complex J2EE high-v volume transactional applications.
• Primary responsibility will be collaborative J2EE development on our Transaction Services applications, including instrumentation for performance and monitoring for event-driven transaction processing software, as project tasks dictate.
• Work with our FRS information security architecture group on policies and procedures for integration of rich client technology.
• Responsible for estimating, tracking, and reporting status on tasks.
Required Skills and Experience:
Will have experience with designing solutions crossing multiple platforms and technologies. These projects involve taking an existing project plan and requirements and refining both through active communication with others on the team and project management.

• Require 5 years J2EE development experience. Prefer WebSphere development experience.
• Require 4 years UNIX experience.
• Require formal training in object-oriented methodologies and 4 years experience with object-oriented design
• Require demonstrated experience building and implementing software solutions and design patterns requiring complex technologies in an enterprise environment requiring integration between the mainframe and distributed platforms.
• Must have experience resolving complex system problems in a team setting, including evaluation of options to determine optimal solution.
• Prefer high-volume transaction processing experience (5,000+ transactions / second).
• Experience with OpenJPA, Spring, jBPM, WebSphere MQ pub/sub, and Wicket a plus
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Communicates effectively on complex technical matters to non-technical audiences, including the FRS business community. Communications could include presentations, training, documentation, memos, etc.

Deliverables:

1. Ongoing input to the project leadership teams on critical tasks and/or issues.
2. Build of information and transactional services in a J2EE environment as project tasks dictate.
3. Tuning of application for high-volume transaction performance.
4. Integration of information between the Information and Transaction Services applications.
5. Develop software on WebSphere/Eclipse J2EE platforms.
6. Development and leadership tasks as assigned.
