Internship: Fellowship with Education Nonprofit in Hyde Park

Graduate students (or recent grads) wanted for Management Fellowship with Hyde Park-area nonprofit. The position is unpaid at this time, but time investment is only around 5-7 hours per week. This is a great way to gain management experience with an education nonprofit in your spare time.

Our organization is dedicated to fighting the achievement gap in Chicago schools. Organizing a corps of mentors to reach urban youth is our tool to accomplishing this goal.

There are a few positions available, but most involve approximately two meetings per week at the University of Chicago campus or area schools and several hours a week of working on various projects. Experience with training individuals or relationship building would be great. Those who can accomplish tasks with little supervision would fit nicely. Mature professionals are needed, but also ones who are at the beginning stages of their careers. Time management skills and a desire to make a difference with a small but growing nonprofit are required.

This position would last for the semester starting in January, but some training would take place before then. Please e-mail your resume and a brief few sentences about why you are interested in the position.
