Summary:

To provide food to the guests in an efficient, courteous and accurate manner. All functions are carried out to maintain an environment of teamwork.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Delivery of food to the guests ensuring that it is delivered promptly and of the proper temperature.

Clean and set tables to restaurant standards.

Deposit dishes appropriately in the dishroom or specified area.

Stock bussing stations.

Clean stations, including sweeping floor using the tools provided.

Emptying all trash containers regularly.

Perform buffet set-up and refill if needed.

Assist in Room Service if needed.

Assist other restaurant personnel with tasks when necessary.

Job Requirements:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and-or Experience:

Less than high school education; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, menus, and customer requests. Ability to effectively present information one-on-one to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers. Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simply one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and taste or smell. The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell.

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10-25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the Food Runner will need to handle kitchen and service utensils, such as knives, glasses, etc. Floors may be slippery. Will carry large, heavy items such as tubs or trays, which need to be cautiously positioned and transported. Broken glasses or hot liquids are also present and must be carefully handled.
