Colorant Systems Technician

This position will proactively serve the needs of customers and internal team members by providing extensive equipment technical support. The individual in this position must reside within 150 miles of Scranton, PA and will cover the states north of Pennsylvania and east of Ohio resulting in travel of 70-80%. Passing a DOT physical is required for hiring.

Principal Accountabilities:

Equipment Technical Support
• Support customers and sales staff with extensive onsite and over the phone technical equipment trouble shooting.
Analyze information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.
Study schematics and manufacturer’s manuals to diagnose and resolve equipment problems.
• Support customers and sales staff by providing timely, accurate parts order processing.
• Support customers and sales staff by completing on site equipment sets ups and calibrations.
• Assist the internal training program for equipment operations, troubleshooting, maintenance and safety.
• These duties will account for 45% of the overall job duties.

Operation Audits
• Complete detailed operation of audits of customer’s mulch coloring system operations.
• Review and recommend corrective and preventative maintenance programs for customer’s mulch coloring systems operations.
• Perform service work to mulch coloring systems as required by service programs or individual service request.
• These duties will account for 40% of the overall job duties.

Development and Coordination of New Technologies
• Assist in coordinating the development and implementation of new innovative technologies.
• These duties will account for 15% of the overall job duties.

A Bachelor’s degree in a related field and a minimum of 5 years prior work experience in equipment technical support (e.g., heavy equipment dealership technician, electrical controls repair, etc.) is required or similar combination of education and experience. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

• Attention to detail and accuracy under tight time constraints
• Ability to multitask and be flexible under pressure
• Proven problem solving skills
• Proven technical communication skills
• Excellent customer service and phone skills
• Previous presentation skills
• Good diplomacy and public relation skills
• Competent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Solid working knowledge of concepts including: blue prints, preventive maintenance, diesel components, electrical schematics, electronic components, hydraulics, and welding/metal fabrication
