The University of Tennessee Health Science Center seeks to hire an Engineer to work in the Department of Facilities Planning Services. This position will provide in-house engineering services to all UT Memphis academic and administrative units and the UT Family Practice centers. Duties of this position include but are not limited to mechanical, plumbing, and electrical engineering services consisting of designing, planning and evaluating space arrangements, estimating construction costs, developing construction drawing and specifications, consulting and coordinating project requirements with architects on-campus as well as off-campus consulting engineering firms and administering and inspecting construction work of the University's campus.
REQUIREMENTS
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering; five years experience or fourteen (14) years equivalent experience; formal training in engineering drafting techniques including drafting techniques by hand, as well as electronically through the use of CADD; completion of special courses covering specific segments of building construction; must have a thorough knowledge of the Building Codes, Fire Safety Codes, and the Americans with Disability Act requirements, as well as pertinent environmental regulations; must be able to effectively utilize materials contained in Code Reference Library in FPSO. This position also requires a professional engineering license.
