JOB SUMMARY
This position exists to ensure that overall management leadership and direction for the planning, organizing and directing functions of the Hospital's Radiation and Laser Safety Program for The Methodist Hospital and The Methodist Hospital Research Institute is provided. This position provides administrative oversight for system-wide hospital and research activities involving the use of radiation.

Experience - External:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Graduate degree in Health Physics or related Occupational Safety field, Ph.D. preferred,

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
1. Minimum of 6 years of experience in health physics (radiation safety) applied in a research and a clinical setting.
2. Leadership skills with the ability to motivate others, good organization skills with ability to prioritize.
3. Must be objective, exercise good judgment and have the ability to delegate.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
Qualifications must be acceptable to the Texas Department of Health as a Radiation Safety Officer for the Radioactive Materials Board License, X-ray Certification and Laser Certification.
