PeopleFund is seeking a highly qualified Director of Loan Programs to lead its Small Business Loan Program. The Director of Loan Programs works with PeopleFund’s senior management team to develop program strategy, and has primary responsibility for managing the loan program’s marketing, underwriting, client training and portfolio management. This includes managing a growing $6 million portfolio of loans to small businesses and community organizations. The Director of Loan Programs will develop a marketing strategy and lead the team through a period of growth that achieves financial sustainability and high community impact. Primary Tasks:
-Develop annual work plan to meet PeopleFund’s loan production (40-45 loans annually) and community impact goals
-Execute a marketing strategy that increases awareness of PeopleFund’s services in 5 county region.
-Create goals for loan team and manage each individual’s performance to those goals
-Monitor and continually revise underwriting guidelines and overall risk management strategy
-Supervise team of 4-6 staff including performance evaluation, coaching, and professional development support so that team members achieve their potential
-Partner with Development and Finance teams by reporting on grants, government contracts and investor capital; collaborating on new initiatives; and participating in public speaking
-Utilize trend analysis to assess portfolio risk and other indicators
-Develop program budgets and manage program related income to meet budget goals
-Oversee loan underwriting, including all aspects of due diligence.
-Continue to improve proprietary financial models for underwriting
-Ensure strong portfolio health through risk analysis
-Oversee collections. Control loan losses and delinquencies
-Devise expanded education and training to clients
-Supervise the loan closing process. Ensure all clients fully understand their responsibilities. Oversee all loan document preparation. Ensure all liens and paperwork are filled out timely and correctly
-Retain legal counsel for special assets
-Measure outcomes. Define market opportunities. Devise strategies for furthering community impact
-Maintain a strong and credible reputation for the organization.

Skills and Qualifications:
-5+ years underwriting/portfolio management experience including collections experience.
-Proven ability to revamp a marketing strategy to reach new objectives, and preferably targeting low-income communities and/or small businesses
-3+ years responsibility for managing a program with demonstrated success meeting or exceeding goals
-3+ more years supervising, leading and motivating a diverse team
-Demonstrated self-starter and problem solver
-Ability to prioritize while being pulled in different directions
-Ability to remain flexible and work with changing priorities when necessary
-Superior communication skills and an ability to adapt to a wide variety of audiences, including direct reports, senior management, clients, funders, and public audiences
-Strong analytical skills with willingness to use qualitative and quantitative data in decision-making
-Comfortable with being responsible for and accountable to several internal and external stakeholders
-Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial, team-oriented, mission-driven environment
-Bachelor’s degree required
-MIS proficiency in software programs, including spreadsheet, loan servicing and database software
-Knowledge of community development finance industry
-Desire to work in multicultural environment
-High level of maturity and positive attitude
-Strong references required
-Must have desire to serve lower-income people and communities
