Features & Description

This is the ONLY crayfish known to clone itself - no males needed, they are ALL born FEMALE and are mainly vegetarian! Some pet stores and online ads offer look-alike crays, but other cray species will end up eating your pet fish and will NOT clone themselves. We offer specimen bloodlines certified by major universities - these are the real deal!

It is species Marmorkrebs "Marbled Crayfish" and is among the most rare crayfish in existence. It is so rare and new that it has not been assigned a scientific (Latin) name yet. This animal is a TRUE CLONE and only one individual can start a whole COLONY! Marbled Crayfish are used in Genetics Research and Biology classes because they are so unique. In fact we supply them to the Biology Labs at Harvard University, among others!

Unlike many species of crayfish, they do not bother any other fish in your aquarium...they just eat plants and snails! They are an all-natural answer to wiping out snail populations in your aquarium! But, they eat regular fish foods too and are NOT picky about water chemistry!

Folks with cichlids, turtles, and other carnivores will appreciate them as a source for endless "feeders" for your hungry pets! And they are even gaining use as a live bait by fishermen who need an economical bait source! (Chill out environmentalists - if they get loose in the wild, they simply serve as food to fish and reptiles).

Beautiful colors - blue legs, red, green, browns all over, and this creature actually has more personality than many mammalian pets. We now have a LIMITED NUMBER of Marbled Crayfish available to rehome! I put up a little web page to show pics and more info: -
