Performs a variety On Air Broadcast Operations as needed in the following areas: Video Control, Air TD, Tape Broadcast Operations, Satellite Recording, Camera and Transmission Control. Duties to include: Video Control and color correction/shading of studio cameras for Live News Shows. Air Technical Director duties to include Harris automation operation, FCC logs, Transmitter control, and editing of play list events. Generally responsible for main On Air signal. TBO duties to include show prep and cueing, Cart transfers, QC of content, and assist Air operations as required. Satellite recording duties to include operation of scheduling software “Compusat” and verification of feed schedule. Operation of Digital Betacam and other tape formats as well as Servers. Camera operation on live News shows as well as Pre-production. Transmission control duties to include set up and check out of facilities for live remotes and monitoring during event. Requires strong computer skills as the Broadcast plant continues to evolve into a more “IT-centric” model. Requirements: High school diploma and a minimum of two to three years job experience in a major market broadcasting company as a Operations Engineer. Ability to frequently lift weights up to 50 lbs., frequently bend, kneel, stoop, and reach. Ability to stand for long periods (greater than 1 hr.). High visual acuity. Exposure to cooler temperatures in the Master Control setting. Ability to work alone and without supervision. Ability to work under deadlines and time constraints. Ability to work various hours including nights and weekends.
