Assistant Controller with a $20B SEC Company,
Salary: 150-350 K Location: Chicago, IL
General Comments:
Need someone with experience in publicly traded companies of the same size and complexity as Client. We need an equal balance of Big 4 Audit and large company/industry experience, heavy SEC & IFRS knowledge, extensive technical accounting, directorship over SOX department, management of very large department and direct reports (this role has 210 reports). Will only consider A candidates. MBA & CPA highly preferred

Comp $150K-$350K, Relocation is a possibility with the role, and comp is very aggressive, with a nice bonus package and equity option which will all be negotiated on the back-end. Position is located downtown Chicago.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Directs all aspects of financial reporting, including preparation of internal and external financial statements and periodic SEC filings.
Directs all aspects of Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 internal control compliance, including performance of the annual self-assessment of the effectiveness of internal control over financial reporting
Directs all aspects of completion of the annual independent audit for the enterprise, including completion of statutory audits and audits of benefit plans
Evaluates and recommends accounting policies and practices for the enterprise
Serves as a key advisor to the Controller and Chief Financial Officer on financial accounting and internal control matters
Supports ongoing implementation of the ERP platform and other technical accounting and internal control automation initiatives
Maintains a culture of accountability and continuous improvement throughout the Controllers Division, measuring divisional performance against key metrics and customer service standards.
Directly manages three Managing Directors and total of 210 employees
