ASE Job Description

We are seeking an Application Services Engineer (ASE) to design, deployment,

documentation and support the PeopleSoft application .The ASE coordinates the

resolution of system-wide outages and ensures appropriate documentation exist to

build, install, manage and

support the applications. Assignments are of a dynamic nature;

assigned projects and tasks will require broad industry and technical knowledge

as well as exceptional organizational, communication, and prioritization.

The ideal candidate possesses a blend of technical, leadership and interpersonal

skills. He or she must be a focused, execution-oriented self-starter who seeks

direction and input when needed. A customer centered approach with the ability

to diplomatically execute within a standard process framework is a must. He or

she must be able to think and act strategically and be able to develop

productive, collaborative working relationships with a variety of people,

effectively communicating complex concepts and ideas to both technical and nontechnical audiences.

Job Functions:

· Provide technical leadership for enterprise application

technology initiatives.

· Ensure technical solutions are secure and are designed for

performance, reliability, scalability, maintainability, supportability, and

business continuity.

· Develop Detailed Release Definitions and Rollout Plans.

· Ensure development / maintenance environments are implemented

and maintained.

· Ensure application design, release and support documentation

is created.

· Establish and maintain relationships with key customers.

· Resource and workload planning and management.

· Take an active leadership role in multiple strategic projects

and programs across diverse organizational lines.

· Provide technical advice and guidance to project leadership

teams.

Qualifications

Qualifications

·

· BS/BA degree in Information Systems or equivalent.

· Ability to work with and an understanding of J2EE, .NET

Frameworks, and networking protocols. Broad technical knowledge with 10 years

experience in IT and varying projects.

· Knowledge of or experience with systems engineering

principles, ITIL, SDLC or enterprise architecture.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong

interpersonal attributes.

· Expert knowledge of hardware and software technologies with 10

years experience of relevant industry experience.

· Ability to validate business requirements and synthesize

complex technical details and design solutions to meet them.

· Knowledge and experience designing application solutions for

reliability, scalability, manageability, and business continuity.

· Ability to resolve technical issues spanning multiple

technical and/or functional areas.

· Requires in depth understanding of at least two major

operating systems.

· Understanding of security concepts including intrusion

detection and prevention, ACLs, firewalls, and application security.

· Familiarity with various computer languages, Oracle/SQL, SQR,

shell scripting, java, C#, or other scripted languages.

· Understanding of n-tier environments and middleware

technologies such as Tomcat, WebSphere, Weblogic, etc.

· Familiarity with directories and understanding of the LDAP

protocol is desired.

· Some experience with RDMS concepts and systems is required.

Experience on at least 2 of the following technologies is desired:

Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL. www.slc-staffing.com
