JOB SUMMARY
Works in coordination with The Methodist Hospital Physician Organization (TMHPO) Director, Business Practices to develop, implement and oversee TMHPO Business Practices billing compliance program to ensure appropriate risk management. Provides oversight and QA of specialty specific activities & coordinates refund process. Manages the internal billing compliance review process.


Experience - External:
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree, preferably in Health Information Management, Nursing, or related field.


EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
' Seven years experience in the following areas: physician coding, medical billing, audit/review, and supervision/management or equivalent. Experience in academic medical setting preferred.


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED
One or more of the following certifications:
' Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
' Certified Coding Specialist Physician-based (CCS-P)
' Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
' Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)


SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
' Excellent analytical skills and the ability to organize and prioritize assignments
' Mastery of diagnosis and procedural coding systems
' Sound judgment in applying and interpreting policies and procedures including those issued by CMS, Medicare carriers, Medicaid, and specialty societies
' Must demonstrate excellent interpersonal, oral and written
