Job Description

The Member Service Academy Representative is the key point of contact in the provision of professional, accurate and courteous customer service to members and potential members. Must have strong communication skills (written and verbal), strong customer service skills, excellent attendance, and discipline to arrive to work or return from breaks on time on a daily basis. Little or no Health care background. Must be a quick learner, excellent team player, customer service oriented. The Member Service Academy Representative will perform various functions including answering calls, and performing various data entry functions to assist in systems information maintenance. Working knowledge of MS Word.

This position handles First Level calls involving

Member eligibility verification, general program and administration questions, knowledge of at least one product or call skillset, direct product member requests for I.D. Cards and PCP changes, triage of calls to appopriate unit, and CSIM documentation.

Education Qualification/Requirements


High School Diploma; customer service or sales training.

1-2 years customer service telephone experience in a managed healthcare environment. Data entry experience with ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm. Ability to answer a high volume of calls; previous ACD experience preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology. Must be a strong team player, punctual, and has excellent attendance record.
