Our client is global leading manufacturer in the confection industry. Currently, we are seeking a highly-qualified Quality Assurance Manager to plan and direct activities concerning the development, application and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials and products.

Quality Assurance Manager (Confections Industry)
Reporting to the Head of Quality Assurance in Canada and the local Plant Manager, you will be responsible for:
Job Description
               Develop and initiate standards, methods and procedures for inspections, testing and evaluations.
              Assist the Site and Operations Manager in developing and maintaining ISO compliance procedures.
              Establish and implement programs to evaluate precision and safety of production equipment.
              Develop and implement procedures for disposition of complaints.
               Devise methods to assess costs and responsibilities.
               Suggest and implement changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase production efficiency and safety.
               Interact with other departments and trainers to develop and implement food safety programs as required or necessary.
               Develop and administer Quality Assurance budget.
Prepare for external audits, interact with federal, state and local agencies to ensure compliance with regulations
Manage 1 Quality Assurance Technician
Interact with customers regarding complaints, issues and quality measures
Experience with quality systems
Collaborate with R&D for new recipes, optimizing recipes and ingredients

Job Requirements
·               BA/BS degree in chemistry, biology, food science or related field
·               Minimum of 8 years experience in food quality control/assurance
·               Experience developing and implementing quality systems rules and procedures.
·               Experience with and knowledge of FDA and local and federal rules and regulations pertaining to quality assurance.
·               Must be communicative and autonomous with the ability to strictly adhere to quality standards despite conflicting priorities.
·               Be hands on at the plant level, coordinating and monitoring operator and supervisor activities
·              Computing experience, SAP essential.

Candidate must also be able and willing to travel both nationally and internationally on occassion for training purposes - approximately 10% annually.
