Laboratory Supervisor, Emerging Pathogens Laboratory - (NYC) - Super- vise all activities in lab engaged in re- search of emerging pathogens & select agents. Manages lab staff, incl. assign- ing work, & designing & implementing training. Designs & implements lab std operating procedures, ensuring bio- safety level 3 & that facility meets CDC reqs for air quality. Resp. for oversee- ing engagements w/ contract manu- facturers & regulatory agencies. Deve- lops research projects, employing knowledge of maintenance of bacterial cell culture, eukaryotic tissue culture, phenotype expression, DNA Transformation, Gene Expression, Genome Analysis (NCBI, Pfam, EBI, ClustalW), Microarray Analysis (TIGR, SAM, & SNOMAD), & Protein Analysis (LC/MS, MS/MS, & Mascot) &, JAVA & PERL. Reconstructs metabolic pathway of bacteria by using Sympheny, Matlab, & programming. Will need to obtain clearance from the Dept of Justice for work w/ select agents or toxins. Requirements: Master's of Sci- ence in Bioinformatics or Biology & 1 yr in position offered or Clinical Research Coordinator. Related exp. must have incl. knowledge of bio-safety level 3, maintenance of bacterial cell culture, eukaryotic tissue culture, phenotype expression, DNA Transformation, Gene Expression, Genome Analysis (NCBI, Pfam, EBI, ClustalW), Microarray Analy- sis (TIGR, SAM, & SNOMAD), & Protein Analysis (LC/MS, MS/MS, & Mascot) &, JAVA & PERL.
