Journal Communications is a diversified media company with operations in publishing, radio and television broadcasting, interactive media and printing services. Our interactive media assets include about 120 online enterprises that are associated with our publishing and broadcasting businesses.
We publish the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, which serves as the only major daily newspaper for the Milwaukee metropolitan area, and, through our subsidiary, Journal Community Publishing Group, more than 50 community newspapers and shoppers in Wisconsin and Florida.
Through Journal Broadcast Group, we own and operate 35 radio stations and eleven television stations in 12 states and operate an additional television station under a local marketing agreement.
We also provide a wide range of printing services including complete production of magazines, professional journals and documentation material, as well as distribution solutions and fulfillment through our subsidiary, IPC Print Services.
In addition, we operate PrimeNet, a direct marketing services business.

We are looking for a talented individual to supervise our financial and IT audit team as the Internal Audit Manager.

Key deliverables include:
Leads a risk based audit planning effort to develop an annual audit plan that is presented to Senior Management and the Audit Committee for approval.

Responsible for strategic direction and quality of the internal audit function, including continuous improvement of audit procedures, communication of audit recommendation and monitoring the status of audit recommendations. This includes reviewing all audit findings and recommendations to ensure recommendations are appropriate, cost effective, and consistent with effective internal control procedures and company policy.

Performs audit procedures when necessary to achieve the audit plan.

Assures protection for the assets of the business through special project assignments.

Requirements:
This position requires a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting and seven (7) years’ experience in manufacturing or public accounting; or any combination of experience, education and training which would provide the level of knowledge, skill and ability required. Knowledge of information technology controls and procedures.
Ability to maintain good working relationships with co-workers, supervisor and management.
CPA or CIA certification is desirable.
