The H&R Block Emerald Advance Line of Credit.The Emerald Advance is a year-round line of credit available at participating H&R Block offices. A line of credit allows you to borrow, repay and re-borrow up to your available credit limit. H&R Block Bank provides the Emerald Advance.You must pay down the entire amount borrowed during the Promotional Period by February 15, 20092. Fees and Interest Associated with an Emerald Advance.Interest. You will be charged interest (financial charge) on the funds that you transfer from your Emerald Advance line of credit to your H&R Block Emerald Prepaid MasterCard. APR. This interest is stated as an Annual Percentage Rate (APR). The APR will be 36%. If you maintain at least a $300 balance in your H&R Block Emerald Savings account and choose to secure your Emerald Advance with Your Emerald Savings account your APR will be 9%.Annual Fee. An annual fee of $45 is due as long as your Emerald Advance account remains open.Late Fee. If you are late in making a payment, a $7.50 late payment fee may be imposed. Maximum late fees are $22.50 annually.3. Emerald Advance Amounts and Availability.Promotional Period: Up to $1000. Your credit line will be a variable amount up to $1000 if you apply and qualify for an Emerald Advance before January 16, 2009. This credit limit will remain in effect through January 31, 2009. After February 15, 2009: $300-$1,000. After February 15, 2009 you may maintain your Emerald Advance by choosing one of the following methods: Use your Emerald Savings account to maintain a line of credit of $300-$1000. You decide your credit limit by depositing that amount to your Emerald Savings account. The funds in your Emerald Savings account will secure payment of you Emerald Advance. Your deposits will earn interest, even though the amount you select to secure your line of credit will not be available for withdrawal from the savings account. Or, arrange for payroll direct deposit to your H&R Block Emerald Card of at least $500 monthly for two consecutive months and each month thereafter, which provides a maximum credit limit of $300. Resting Period: February 1-15. You may not draw from your Emerald Advance between February 1 and February 15 of each year, and you must pay down the full balance of your Emerald Advance by February 15 of each year,4. Payment Options.Check or Transfer. You may mail a check or money order to H&R Block Bank, PO Box 3052, Milwaukee, WI, 53201-3052, or call the number on the back of your Emerald Card to authorize a transfer of money from your Emerald Card or your Emerald savings account to make a payment n your Emerald Advance line of credit.Tax Refund. If you choose to have your taxes prepared by H&R Block, you may use the proceeds of any tax refund due to you to pay down your Emerald Advance. You are not required to return to H&R Block to have your taxes prepared, and you are not required to purchase a settlement product.Settlement Options. If you (1) return to H&R Block after January 1, 2009, for income tax preparation, (2) authorize the Internal Revenue Service to direct your federal tax refund to a third party, and (3) instruct that third party to transfer a portion of your refund to your Emerald Savings Account with H&R Block, then you authorize H&R Block to pay the balance of your Emerald Advance to zero.Optional Automatic Payment.
