Control Systems Engineer- Quincy, IL

We currently have an opportunity in our Quincy, IL branch office for a Systems Control Engineer. This person will be responsible for project tracking, reporting and team improvement along with management. Candidates must be able to work as a project manager at times and as a team player based on the project at hand. This person will be the face of Applied Technologies and must be able to effectively communicate with clients, maintain relationships, service all customer needs from an engineering perspective, and be able to handle issues as they arise and know when to escalate to management.

Job Requirements:

1. B.S./M.S. degree in electrical engineering or computer science.

2. Candidates must have some familiarity with estimating/ quoting parts and labor for a project.

3. Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) / Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming, and Control Systems design.

4. Systems analysis including hardware and software specification.

5. Must have in-depth knowledge of and application experience in control systems with a particular focus on vision systems.

6. Experience with part inspection, error proofing applications, vision integration with robotic systems, and others are a must.

7. Specific knowledge of manufacturing sectors such as consumer products and automotive are a definite plus.

8. This role will research potential solutions, get appropriate pricing, arrange orders, and deliveries for projects.

9. Must have the availability to handle projects from concept through startup.

10. Ability to analyze root cause of problems (technical and non technical). Communicate solutions clearly and concisely to AT and customer teams.

11. Must be indpendent, flexible, a self-starter, and be able to manage projects and timelines.

12. Good interpersonal and communication skills are required.
