HIGHLY EXPERIENCED CAREGIVER is searching for a LIVE-IN, FT adult caregiver position. I've worked in many diverse environments, including hospitals, secured psychiatric, acute/long term care and assisted living residential facilities, home care settings, post-surgical units and private residences through medical staffing agencies as a CNA/HHA/PCT in the state of Florida, for the last eight years (since 7/2000). I've established immediate rapport with individuals and their families. Helped individuals gain functional restoration. Assisted with eating, sitting, standing, balance transfers and ambulating, including wheelchair, bed and toilet. Monitored and charted vital signs, blood glucose levels, food and liquid intake/output. Assessed physical and mental status. Provided oral and perineal care and given baths and showers. Performed Foley catheterization insertion and IV removal. Assisted attending nurses with tube feeding and sterile wound care. Transported the homebound to medical and various other appointments and ran errands. Prepared nutritious meals according to dietary orders. Performed housekeeping and laundry care. Managed household supplies and expenditures. I'm experienced in using a variety of approaches to supervise and administer personal care to individuals with various levels of physical, mental and psychiatric disorders. I'm a mature, hard working, focused and highly experienced with a sunny disposition, can work independently and is willing to go the extra mile. When you're not feeling well, of course you want someone gentle, patient, compassionate, experienced and responsible who'll provide quality care to you and/or your loved ones. I've been a healthcare provider in good standing for eight years. And I can utilize my specialized skills to contribute to the comfort, enlightenment and education of you and your family through my endeavors in healthcare. I'm also quite proficient as a cook. Peoples' diets and lifestyles are highly diversified. Whether for religious, moral or health reasons, the average person has special dietary needs or would regularly prefer a healthy, no-meat meal selection. They may choose a vegetarian lifestyle for reasons of health, religion, environment, moral conviction or simply because they like varied cuisine. Additionally, there are those with lactose intolerance, diabetes, mildly overweight, or obesity, who'd benefit from a diet that leans more towards a vegetarian eating pattern. These varied dietary needs are mutually satisfied by offering plant-based, no-meat options with each meal. My previous culinary experience includes employment as a dietary assistant/clerk in a hospital setting. I can cook Classic American, Italian, Polish, French, Creole, Spanish, and Southern...adjustable according to specific dietary needs such as; diabetic, calorie count ada, mechanical soft/ground, low sodium, bland, cardiac, renal, disphagia, full liquid, clear liquid, vegan, and vegetarian. And religious diets such as Buddist, Hindu, Muslim, Jewish Kosher and Seventh Day Adventist. A little about myself...Born & reared in central New Jersey during the civil rights movement, my mother was a Polish/French homemaker, and my father an African American/American Indian General Contractor, a civil rights activist, and politician. Such a diverse background taught me the finer points of social ettiquette in many social situations. I'm a 5'10", 175 lb., 45 year-old physically fit woman, with no family responsibilities, and a very pleasant disposition. I moved to California from Florida to permanently enjoy the California lifestyle, of which I'm very fond. I desire a position in a private home, with my own room, & 48 hours per week off (concurrently but not necessarily on weekends). I seek a position for general home health, companion, Acute Care, housekeeping &/or cooking in a PRIVATE HOME ONLY. No agencies or adult care facilities or homes, please.
