Description:The TFS specialist will be a member of a team developing, maintaining and deploying the Biometrics Automated Toolset (BAT), which is finding increasing use among intelligence, law enforcement and immigration agencies (e.g. FBI, CIA, Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies). The TFS specialist will perform tasks typical of a VB.Net software developer, but will be relied upon as the team’s expert in implementing, administering and customizing our Microsoft Team Foundation Server development environment. Particular emphasis will be placed on setting up and training the use of TFS for automated builds and product deployment processes. VB.Net development activities will require knowledge of software applications, analysis, design, coding, testing and documentation of software. Essentials Functions: •The Team Foundation Server specialist will be a key member of a software development team developing and deploying the BAT which is finding increasing use among intelligence, law enforcement and immigration agencies (e.g. FBI, CIA, Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies).•The TFS specialist will design and implement a TFS environment for the BAT project which will utilize the collaborative, defect tracking, development, and project management aspects of the environment, as well as provide advice and expertise in other areas of TFS.•Will, as well, perform tasks requiring knowledge of software applications, coding and design functions, to include analysis, design, testing, and documentation of software specific to BAT using the .Net environment. •This role requires a detailed understanding of biometrics functionality and the ability to analyze and evaluate customer requirements and system incident reports. •Provide input to documentation and recommend design changes and/or enhancements to the system. •May be required to interface with the customer.Minimum Qualifications: •Bachelor's degree that provides a substantial degree of knowledge in software engineering efforts, and/or in a computer science, information system, a physical science, engineering or a mathematics-intensive discipline is highly desired•Have a minimum of 3 years software development experience (in a .Net environment is highly desired)•Have at least 1 year demonstrated experience implementing and customizing a TFS installation for production use•Have at least at least 3 years experience developing software with Visual Studio 2003 or later on a complex or substantive information technology project•Possess/demonstrate: strong organizational and analytical skills, personal initiative, attention to detail, good verbal and written communications skills, and self-initiated activity•Be able to work independently and/or in a close team environment is essential•Be proficient in the Microsoft Office applications suite•Possess a strong customer service orientationDesired Skills:•Highly desired skills include: UML, XML, HTML, SOA, Web Services•Also desirable: C#, ADO, ASP.NET, DCOM, COM+, and experience in developing enterprise applications•Familiarity with biometric applications is a plus, as is an understanding of the military structure, mission, and responsibilities
