The .Net Software Engineer will be a member of a team developing, maintaining and deploying the Biometrics Automated Toolset (BAT), which is finding increasing use among intelligence, law enforcement and immigration agencies (e.g. FBI, CIA, Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies). The junior software engineer would utilize their skills in an agile environment to help maintain and enhance the legacy BAT system, as well as design and develop the next generation system in a .Net environment.

Essentials Functions:

•The Jr. Software Engineer will be a key member of a software development team developing and deploying the BAT which is finding increasing use among intelligence, law enforcement and immigration agencies (e.g. FBI, CIA, Department of Homeland Security and other federal agencies).

•With supervision, the Jr. Software Engineer will perform tasks requiring knowledge of software applications, coding and design functions, to include software analysis, design, testing, and documentation of software specific to BAT.

•This role requires a detailed understanding of biometrics functionality and the ability to analyze and evaluate customer requirements and system incident reports.

•Provide input to documentation and recommend design changes and/or enhancements to the system.

Minimum Qualifications:

•Bachelor's degree that provides a substantial degree of knowledge in software engineering efforts, and/or in a computer science, information system, a physical science, engineering or a mathematics-intensive discipline is highly desired

•Have a minimum of 3 years professional software engineering experience

•Have demonstrated experience with SQL Server 2000/2005, Microsoft Visual Basic .Net 2003/2008 for enterprise systems or applications

•Have had significant involvement with complex or substantive information technology projects

•Possess/demonstrate: strong organizational and analytical skills, personal initiative, attention to detail, good verbal and written communications skills, and self-initiated activity

•Abe to work independently and/or in a close team environment is essential

•Be proficient in the Microsoft Office applications suite

•Possess a strong customer service orientation

Desired Skills:

•Highly desired skills include: UML, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, InstallShield, XML, HTML, SOA, Web Services

•Also desirable: C#, ADO, ASP.NET, DCOM, COM+, ArcGIS, Analyst Notebook and experience in developing enterprise applications

•Familiarity with biometric applications is a plus, as is an understanding of the military structure, mission, and responsibilities

Must hold a Secret clearance or higher.
