Our Airstream is the 70th Anniversary edition of the all-American “silver bullet” built on the dream of one man, Wally Byam, who set out to make the perfect travel trailer. And it is. You can get the specs and see the floorplan of our Airstream at the following website http://www.airstream.com ...look under the Classic Limited tab. But, what you really need to know is that we have loved every minute of camping in our Airstream with our family. This high quality recreational vehicle (RV) is nicely appointed with solid oak cabinetry and high-end appliances. It’s air conditioned for summer use and gas heated and well insulated if you choose to use it in the winter. There’s a private stateroom in the rear with a queen bed for Mom and Dad. The forward living area has a full-size sofabed which comfortably sleeps our two daughters and there’s a mid-ship dinette that creates a double bed to accommodate our two boys. We love it and you will too.

Our White Chevrolet Suburban tows the Airstream with ease wherever we choose to go. Both the Suburban and the Airstream have spent most of their time in the dry, warm climate of South Central Texas. We travelled up to New England in them when we made an Air Force move last fall to Hanscom AFB. If you’re thinking of cruising the USA in this Chevrolet we want you to know we had no trouble whatsoever towing the Airstream across the grassy prairies of Texas, through the many blue hills of Tennessee, up Virginia’s beautiful Shenandoah Valley and over the Northeast’s busy highways and byways on our way to Boston. Since arriving, we’ve really enjoyed RVing along the coast and, recently, in the White Mountains of New Hampshire (ask us about the fantastic KOA we stayed in near Mt Washington!) The Suburban has had regular checkups and oil changes and runs smooth and strong with just over 111,000 mostly highway miles. It has leather seats, plenty of room for our family of six and a massive amount of space in the rear storage area for anything you can’t fit in the Airstream when you’re out on the road.

A very special part of this package is our perfectly sized waterfront lot located on the secluded and quiet Upper Naukeag Lake in Ashburnham, MA. And it will stay quiet too. Upper Naukeag Lake is a public water supply that doesn’t allow motorboats of any kind. With a permit, you can row your flat bottom skiff around the lake to the many small islands that dot the water or stop and fish in this deep, well-stocked reservoir. The lot is located approximately 3-4 miles northwest of the sleepy hamlet of Ashburnham off Lake Road which runs across the Massachusetts border into New Hampshire near the popular 21 mile Wapack trail. (http://www.wapack.org/) The 30 X 30 foot lot (yes, the dimensions are correct!) is accessed by a 12 foot by 300 foot right of way through woodlands that offer a private place to camp or park your Airstream. I took the pictures below from the shoreline of the lot in early December 2008…just before the ice storm last year. The lot still needs to be cleared of some debris from the storm but will make a beautiful campsite when it’s done.
