Features & Description
I am selling my 2002 Honda Civic EX. It has automatic transmission. It has 225,400 miles. (may be a touch more by the time you buy, but not much). It's nicknamed the "Piemobile", because when I lived in New York, it had license plates that said "MMM PIE". (I will probably reference it as that through the description).I have traveled coast to coast with this car many many times and have only had it break down on me once: when I replaced the transmission, nearly exactly a year ago in Santa Rosa, New Mexico at Bozo's Garage (yea.. but it was my only choice! - long story) and is still running strong. It does need a little maintenance. You need to get an oil change. It's slightly over. Typically I'm on top of maintenance but since I've moved here I haven't dealt with it much. I'd also flush the transmission fluid as well. The tyres are new as of last year, I bought them at Goodyear so you can have them maintained almost anywhere in the country. They have free rotation on them still. There is a "hard" noise when you press the accelerator from a stopped position too much. You must start up slowly to avoid this. It's also related to what I've been told is a CV joint potentially needing replacement. I am not 100% on this as it was a friend who told me without looking. It could be something else, major or minor. I'm honestly not sure and don't have the money to look at.There is a dent in the front right. It's been there since I took it from Arizona to New York in 2003. I went to work one day, it wasn't there. I came out at the end of the day, and it was there. Not cool. Either way, that's the only "accident" it's had. (Well, I fell into a ditch filled with snow once on an icy road in New York but it was a slow slide and caused no damage to anything. It was kind of fun actually..)Breaks are getting a little worn so replacing them in the next 6-8 months would be recommended. There is a moon roof! When I travel and sleep in there, and the weather is warm I keep it open to watch the stars. Beautiful! The left driver side window has issues rolling up. If you put it down all the way, you have to help it right your hands. I've gone in to get this fixed once and they said it was all better, but it wasn't. This wasn't a big issue so I never dealt with it. I usually only roll down the back windows.Has two scratches on passenger side. One was a 6" key job by an ex worker in Florida who ended up being a little mental. Another on the passenger side back seat door was from a deer that ran into me on the highway, two nickel sized rust spots. They should be easy to cover, or just not notice. It doesn't make the car drive any different! The AC doesn't work. I believe it just needs some freon. I bought a can, but I didn't use it yet. It used to work fine. It stopped about a year and a half ago. I don't like AC anyway so I didn't bother to fix it.Bonuses are I've installed a cheap CB (citizens band) radio with an antenna on the trunk. It doesn't get great range, but good enough when you reach a backup to hear the truckers chatter. I can show you how to use it if you're unfamiliar. Or I can take it out if you don't want it.It's got an MP3 playing CD player. IE, it'll play CD's with MP3's on it. It does NOT have an MP3 player hookup. You'd need an FM transmitter in your MP3 device. There is a remote button car alarm. I have two beepers for this. The car had been broken into once in 2004 so I know it works! (They stole the car stereo I had, which was worth only $50, and a digital camera I stupidly left in the cup holder with a photo of my Mom on it!) But they left the bag of quarters I used for tolls in the glovebox. How silly is that! There is a 3 bicycle rack on the trunk as well. I've used it many times, even carrying all 3 bikes from Florida to Oklahoma. This I know means it's safe and very sturdy. It's had weird shaped bikes as well as normal bikes on it. If you don't want it I can take it off.The windshield is relatively new too, as it was replaced due to a rock from the highway incident.I still get average 30 mpg highway. It varies, but it's between 30 and 34mpg. It has a 12 gallon tank. I haven't driven it much since I've moved here so I don't know what it gets city.. but I only filled it up a handful of times since I've been here in July. There is a Monk (people call Buddha) on the dashboard that will be hard to get off. I super glued him there for his protection. He kept trying to run away when it got too hot in the car because the sticky pad wasn't sticky enough. He's fun and part of the character of the car. There is also a Buddha for safe travels I glued to the dash near the speedometer. He might be easier to take off. It doesn't block any readings though so I'd leave it.. considering over 200,000 miles with no accidents - I think he's helped somewhere along the way. This car has many stories to tell about the trips it's taken - if you're interested I could tell for hours! Traveling to Orlando, back to Jacksonville, and back again in 6 hours to buy a ring to ask a girl to marry me (she said no). Following a JJ Cale tour from New Hampshire to Arizona - going through the Colorado Rocky Moutains. Visiting Oregon via LA on the Pacific Coast Highway, then when I moved here this year via Idaho. I've been to all but 3 states with this car (Montana, and the Dakotas).I have a soundtrack I made for all the adventures I will include called "Music that will change your life forever". Music I've listened to throughout the years with my Piemobile. It's kind of like selling a memory. But I moved to Oregon/Washington to take advantage of the bike lanes, the public transportation and the ability to survive without a car. So now, I take the steps to sell!I can also include many photos of the car from coast to coast. The Monk on the dash is very camera-friendly. :)I am the second owner of this car. I bought it with about 12,000 miles on it in Phoenix, Arizona in 2003. It was a rental car from California. I have the title which I transferred to Florida and have renewed considering I don't know if I'll sell it in time not to. You will need to get an emissions test, etc or however they do things in Oregon/Washington.If you have any questions feel free to write! My phone is off (partially why I'm selling, so I can pay my bills) but you can call 360-607-5953 or 360-823-9542 and leave a message which I'll return as soon as I can. These are friends cells that offered to take messages for me.My name is Michael W. Lasota. You can find me on Myspace (/baadasssssmikie and /mwl) and Facebook. You can Sipgate me 02033938806.Serious inqueries only. I am NOT willing to lower the price. I will get it a car wash when you buy! Thanks!!!Additional photos at http://picasaweb.google.com/mrjojojellybean
